Republican 2012 Race looks Awfully Crowded
I’m constantly reading stuff about who’s going to take on Barack this next Presidential go-round, mostly about Palin and the 2012 Presidential Elections, but I focus a ton of energy on the Presidency because I’m going to be there some day. Two articles from Politico made the front page this morning. One talking about how John Thune, Senator from my grandmother’s home state of South Dakota, is gearing up for a Presidential run. The other is about Tim Pawlenty getting his ducks in a row for his shot at the title. Now, the most disturbing of these articles is the Palin one. Allahpundit does a fine job of break this thing down, but the thing that scares me the most is that we absolutely cannot let the Left pick our candidate again. Palin would be a disaster and with names like Thune, Gingrich, Pawlenty, and Romney I think either of those guys would be a more solid choice. And if you doubt for a second that Palin isn’t running for President you might as well forget it. She’s get momentum and it’s not going anywhere. I’ve said this before in some conversations, but I’ve heard a TON of names out there and I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw 15+ Republican candidates for President in 2012. Here’s a rough list of any potential candidate I’ve heard of:
And these are just he one’s I’ve read that are contemplating running. I know there are some wild cards out there Judd Gregg, Jim DeMint, Roy Blunt or Paul Ryan. Ryan and Blunt being the longer of the long shots at going after the Presidency, but I wouldn’t write them off completely. They may give it a go. It will be interesting to see what transpires. In the age where Obama can come seemingly out of no where to snag the nomination, we may be looking at a field of hopefuls thinking they are the better than the next Obama. One things for certain. They should all call me because I’m available and I know how to win elections.
